WORK SEX MONEY DHARMA
An Urban Retreat with Martin Aylward - a unique week-long exploration of the life you live.
Saturday March 13th – Friday March 19th, 2010
Sat & Sun will be non-residential day-longs (10am-4:30pm)
Mon-Fri will be evening sessions (7pm – 8.30pm)
Many of us feel a gap between our meditation practice and the rest of our lives and we often struggle to stay present, curious and spacious in the middle of all the activity and demands of our busy and demanding lives. In a radical development of traditional practice formats, London Insight’s first urban retreat will allow Londoners the chance to experience the benefits of a meditation retreat whilst in the midst of our normal lives. This will be possible by using various tools and support for examining the reality of our everyday experience as it happens, right here and right now.
Led by Martin Aylward, one of Europe’s leading insight meditation teachers, this Urban Retreat will have a unique format of a weekend non-residential retreat followed by a week of evening sessions during which we will use meditation, teachings, discussions and individual sessions with Martin to explore:
· how the challenges we face everyday can be used to reveal, open up and liberate our habit-patterns
· the gaps we create and maintain between our ’spiritual life’ and the rest of life
· how we can bring all aspects of our life such as money, work & relationships into the practice of freedom and awakening
ADMISSION : £70 , £55 concession . Dana will be requested for the teacher at the end of the retreat .
Please note that priority will be given to people that can commit to attending both the weekend retreat and at least 4 of the

New Sitting group in Dalston /London Fields

A new meditation/ sitting group is starting at 43 Parkholme Road E8 Dalston/London Fields on the last Friday of the month starting September 25th (xmas excepted) from 8 to 9.30pm. The group will follow basic Vipassana meditation with occasional teachers followed by tea.

London Insight / Sanghaseva service retreat at The Khuphuka Project,
South Africa, 03. April to 17. April 2010
In a unique project London Insight will be combining with Sanghaseva to run a retreat in South Africa.We will be working with the Khuphuka Project which was co-founded by the Insight Meditation teachers, Kittisaro and Thanissara, who are based in South Africa.
The Khuphuka Project is an HIV/ AIDS community care and support programme serving rural communities that face huge problems including HIV infection rates of around 40%, high levels of unemployment, and many orphans and children ‘at risk’. Many families in these areas live close to starvation. The Khuphuka Project operates in the uMqatsheni, Kwatitela and Kwathunzi areas of the Kwa Sani municipality, KwaZulu-Natal. (Please visit http://www.khuphuka.org to find out more). The Khuphuka Project is being supported by London Insight Meditation and San Francisco Insight.
Our intention during the retreat will be to provide practical support to the Khuphuka Project in whatever way is appropriate to their needs and our capabilities at the time. As the Project is still in its infancy [it started in February 2009], we cannot yet specify exactly what kind of work we will be doing; more details will be available nearer the time. As with our 2008 Woza Moya retreat, there may be some physically demanding work involved, but we will try to ensure that there is appropriate work for the range of capacities of those attending the retreat.
Although our work will take place within the rural community where the Khuphuka Project operates, we will be staying at the nearby Dharmagiri Hermitage, founded by Kittisaro and Thanissara – which nestles in the spectacular Southern Drakensberg mountains.
Our days together will be framed by meditation and time for reflection and discussion at the Hermitage, and the two weeks will include a weekend of more intensive meditation practice.
