General Information

London Insight Meditation day and weekend retreats are held at King Alfred School, London NW11. Other events take place at St Ethelburga's Centre for Reconciliation & Peace, London EC2, and at the Diorama Arts Centre, 3-7 Euston Centre, Regents Place London NW1 3JG

One-day retreats take place on Sundays. Weekend retreats are held from Saturday morning through Sunday afternoon.

Registration begins at 9:30 am. Formal procedings begin at 10:00 am.

The day ends at 5:15 pm.

Please bring your own cushion or stool if desired (there are plenty of chairs), appropriate clothing for outdoor walking meditation and a vegetarian lunch to share.

Dana

The charges for retreats only cover running costs and the teacher's immediate expenses. Teachers rely on the generosity of retreatants for their living. You will have the opportunity to show your appreciation on the day.

DIRECTIONS

By Underground

Take the Northern Line (Edgeware Branch) to Golders Green Station. After leaving the station, either walk or take a bus to King Alfred School. To walk, turn left after leaving the station, and walk up North End Road (distance is about 1/2 mile). Alternatively, catch bus 210 or 268 which stop near the School. The entrance to the school is between Wellgarth Road and Hampstead Way.

By Bus

Buses 210 and 268 stop near the school.

By Rail

There are no rail stations within walking distance of the school. Nearest rail stations are Hampstead Heath (North London Line) - take the 268 bus near the station directly to the school. Buses 245, 260 and 460 go directly from Cricklewood Station (Thameslink) to Golders Green Underground Station, and either walk or take a 210 or 268 bus to the school.

By Road

From the North Circular Road (A406), turn onto the A502 Golders Green Road in the direction of Golders Green. Continue for 1 1/2 miles, past Golders Green Underground Station, where the name of the road changes to North End Road. The school is on the left side of North End Road, about 1/2 mile past Golders Green Station. Parking is normally available for free on the street, directly in front of King Alfred School. (no parking allowed in the school grounds).
